A long absence…
as the school year is finally coming to an end i am becoming more and more anxious! although i say “finally” it also seems crazy to think that my first year of teaching is just weeks away from being over and that i survived! it seems like just the other day, i was telling my husband that i can’t wait to be a few weeks into the year, where i would feel comfortable with all my classes - that was eight months ago! it was an incredibly busy school year with many ups and downs and i am definitely ready for a little breathing time!
pictures from our walk in the mountains this past weekend.

Weekend Photos: Spring Break
One of the perks of working as a teacher is getting to enjoy spring break…and it is a much needed break this year! This weekend felt like spring everywhere! Long flowy dresses, blooming trees, side walks covered in fallen petals and ice cream (orange blossom and honey ice cream, my current obsession). Unfortunately Kevin doesn’t have the same perks and will be working all week. So this break will be a slightly lonely one, consisting of spring cleaning, baking, reading, and laying out by the pool.

Recipe: Popovers
my first attempt at popovers. looking up the recipe, i was surprised by how few ingredients there were and how quick they were to make. although they didn’t quite “pop” as much as i would have liked they still had that yummy soft, eggy center and slightly crunchy exterior. perfect with berried or covered in cinnamon and sugar.
