Weekend in Photos….
This past weekend can only be described as perfect! We had been planning it and looking forward to it for quite some time! My husband, being a third year med student, has a less than envious schedule and this was the first time he had even a single day off in almost a month! So we took full advantage! We spent the days in beautiful Newport Beach and even the continuous rain did not get in the way of a weekend I already miss like crazy!
Crepes with Nutella and Bananas
The last couple days here have been cloudy, dreary, and rainy. As I worked at home yesterday, wrapped in a blanket and listening to the rain come down for hours nothing sounded good for lunch except fresh, warm crepes. Not a typical lunch food, but it was just the thing to turn a cold work day into a cozy and delicious one.
A few of the polishes I am currently loving.
This cake is divine! It combines two of my favorite things, chocolate and hazelnuts, and tastes like a giant macaron! Best of all it is not complicated to make or time consuming. We have been enjoying it all weekend!
Christmas Break Part One…
It has been so amazing to spend the last couple of weeks back home with our families.
Even though we didn’t get snow it was impossible to step outside without bundling up, it was numbingly cold, especially compared to Southern California, but perfect to make it feel like the holidays.
Our days were filled with coffee and pastries from European-inspired cafes, last minute Christmas shopping, delicious food, movies, and family we had not seen in way, way too long!
