Lemon Tart

I have always loved lemony desserts, something about the sweet, but tart flavor is incredibly appealing. I found the recipe for this tart here, it is by Thomas Keller from his Bouchon Bakery and as expected it was perfectly delicious!

French Apple Tart

A delicious yet simple dessert. I found this recipe in a Williams-Sonoma cookbook that I have, but you can find it online here. I didn’t decide to make this last night until right before dinner so to save time I used puff pastry for the crust. The whole thing took under an hour to make and the end result was delicious!!

A New Favorite…

Mache lettuce, bosc pear, toasted hazelnuts, and goat cheese, drizzled very lightly with a white wine vinaigrette. I tried this salad at a restaurant a few weeks ago and fell in love!

Cake For Breakfast

I believe that cake is appropriate at any time of day! When I came across this recipe for a breakfast cake, I knew I had to make it right away. The combination of almonds and raspberries makes it seem almost “healthy.” The recipe is put together for a 6” cake which couldn’t be more convenient when baking for two people. I baked it Friday night in hopes of having it with our weekend breakfasts, however it didn’t quite make it to breakfast. ;)

Lentil “Meatballs” in a Lemon Pesto Sauce

My husband grew up vegetarian, so it is very rare that I prepare meat at home and honestly I don’t really miss it! It is definitely harder to come up with new things to cook so I am always on the look out for new recipes. I came across this “meatball” recipe last week and the pictures alone instantly convinced me I had to try making it. We had the meatballs with pappardelle pasta and they were delicious!

*I’ve never been a fan of fennel, but still decided to follow the recipe and add it, but could have done without it ;)
Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee has always been one of my favorite desserts, but this was my first time making it at home. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make and how delicious it tasted homemade! The recipe I used was from Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles Cookbook. You can find it online here.

Black Bean Quesadillas

I found this recipe in a new cookbook that I recently bought, Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi. As soon as I saw the pictures for this recipe, I knew I would be making them. There are quite a few components to the quesadillas, but it all comes together quite easily and in under twenty minutes. They were different from any quesadillas that I have had before, but so delicious and this has now been added to one of our favorite meals!

Lunch Perfection

This has been a staple in my family ever since I can remember. It is such a delicious combination and makes the perfect quick snack or light meal. Just toast some bakery bread, top with avocado, season with salt and pepper and add a few slices of parmesan cheese…and you have perfection!

Deliciously Moist Pumpkin Muffins

These muffins were the perfect dessert last night and are a delicious breakfast this morning. I will definitely be saving this recipe because these were some of the best pumpkins muffins I have ever had!
